Instructions for MBA-UMG Application Form
(Two-Year Master's Program in Urban Management and Governance)

Offered by School of Human Settlements.
ELIGIBILITY:
  1. Candidates with a three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized University can apply with a valid Admission Test score as given below.

  2. Or;

  3. Candidates who have secured the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in their Bachelor's degree program (in a recognized Institute/ College/ University) can apply. Final-year degree students who expect such positions in their final examinations can also apply. (Such candidates do not require Admission Test scores mentioned below). All such applicants must submit a Certificate from the Head of the Institution stating their position, when asked for.

  4. Or;

  5. Candidates from any discipline and with keen interest in urban sector, and with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in their Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) program are also encouraged to apply.

Final year degree students (for all criteria mentioned in this section), who expect to complete their final examinations and other requirements for obtaining the degree by June 15, 2025, can also apply.

ADMISSION TEST :

Apply for any one of the following Admission tests:

  1. XAT to be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on January 05, 2025, OR
  2. CAT to be conducted by IIMs on November 24, 2024, OR
  3. NMAT to be conducted by GMAC during November - December 2024 OR
  4. GMAT conducted or to be conducted in 2023 or 2024, OR
  5. XGMT (XIM General Management Test) to be conducted by XIM University, at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai, on January 25, 2025, OR
  6. GATE conducted or to be conducted in 2024 or 2025, OR
  7. CEED to be conducted by IIT Bombay during January 2025.

The Test/Examination fee for XGMT is 1400 INR. Applicants opting for XAT/CAT/GMAT/NMAT/GATE/CEED are required to follow the XAT/CAT/GMAT/NMAT/GATE/CEED advertisements respectively and apply in time. Registering for XAT/CAT/GMAT/NMAT/GATE/CEED is a prerequisite for applying to XIM University's MBA-UMG program, if not opting for XGMT.

The candidates who have secured the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position (in the Institute/College/University) in their undergraduate program can apply, without a XAT/CAT/GMAT/NMAT/GATE/CEED score. Such applicants must submit a Certificate from the Head of the Institution stating their position, at the time of interview. They will, however, be required to attend the Personal Interview, if called.

How to Apply?
Step 1: Enter your basic credentials in the New User section to get your unique XU ID/Login ID/Username and Password by email for logging into the application form of XIM University.
Step 2: In the Existing User section, login with your XU ID/ Login ID/Username and Password. Fill out the Personal Details, Education and Work Experience details, Choose the program/s you want to apply for and the respective test option/s, Write your Statement of Purpose (SoP), Upload your photo & signature and Submit. (You may keep ready the scanned/digital images of your photo/signature in JPEG format, in advance. The dimensions of photo may be of about 200x250 pixels, and the signature may be of about 250x125 pixels, both images within 50 kb to 100 kb each in size).
Step 3: Pay the application fee through the Payment Gateway. (Application fee is 1800 INR for the first option, and 400 INR each for the subsequent options. Use single form for applying for multiple programs and/or through multiple tests.)

If you have filled in the application form and paid the application fee successfully, you will receive the confirmation by email regarding the acceptance of your online application form.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Candidates short-listed on the basis of admission test (XAT, CAT, NMAT, GMAT, XGMT, GATE, or CEED) scores or rank holder category will be called for Group Discussion, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata or Mumbai (if held offline). Candidates will have to meet their own travel/stay expenses to attend the interview session. Please note that the modalities of the shortlisting/selection process will be shared with the candidates in due course. The final selection will be based on the candidate's performance in XAT/CAT/NMAT/GMAT/XGMT/GATE/CEED, interview session, and will take into account the past academic record and relevant work experience.

The extended last date to fill up the application form is December 23, 2024.
